Facebook will now find photos of you that you’re not tagged in, and maybe didn’t know existed.
Facebook is now using its facial recognition technology to let you know if someone else posted a photo of you, even if you’re not tagged. Facebook is presenting this as an empowering feature for users, letting you have more control of your online identity. When you are alerted that there is a new photo of you uploaded by someone else, you can tag yourself, leave yourself untagged, ask the uploader to take the photo down, or report it to Facebook.
You can also look at this as a creepy reminder of exactly how much Facebook knows about you.
